In the Kathmandu Valley, you visit the three ancient sister cities of Kathmandu, Patan and Bhaktapur and study their unique royal courtyards and temples, a legacy left over from centuries of intermingling of various ethnic groups. You also visit Swoyambhunath Stupa which is perched on a hillock west of Kathmandu and Bodhnath Stupa, the colossal Stupa in Nepal set on concentric ascending terraces in the powerful pattern of a Mandala. Over winding roads, you visit the Newar town of Dhulikhel, 30 km east of Kathmandu at an altitude of 1700m. Changu Narayan, situated on top of a hillock 153 metres above the level of Kathmandu Valley has a wonderful view of the surrounding countryside.
Day 01: To Kathmandu
Arrival in Kathmandu. Upon arrival, you will be met and greeted by our representative with a flower garland. Transfer to your hotel.
Day 02: Kathmandu
Morning visit Kathmandu Durbar Square with walk through the narrow streets with its ornate temples, wayside shrines, the ancient Durbar square and the temple of the living Goddess. Visit the famous Buddhist stupa, Swoyambhunath. In the afternoon, visit Pashupatinath temple considered as the most sacred Hindu temple in the kingdom and the Bodhnath stupa, which is perhaps the world’s largest stupa of its kind.
Day 03: Kathmandu
Morning, visit the shrine of Dakshinkali which is the most spectacular of all Kali temples. Visit a small but picturesque Temple of Adinath on the top of the hill, with a magnificent view of the snow capped peaks. Walk down to the twin village of Bungamati and Khokana which date from the 16th century.
Day 04: Kathmandu
Visit Changu Narayan, a temple richly decorated with priceless stone sculptures and carvings, situated on top of a hillock 153 metres above the level of Kathmandu Valley. Walk down through the village to Bhaktapur, home of medieval art and architecture and a classic showcase of medieval Nepalese town life. It is also known for its pottery and weaving.
Day 05: Kathmandu
Morning, excursion to Dhulikhel, which is set on, a hilltop, enveloped in copper soiled terraces with magnificent views of the central Himalayan peaks. Afternoon, visit Patan, a great centre of Newari Buddhist religion and of the traditional arts and crafts.
Day 06: Kathmandu
The day is at leisure in Kathmandu for optional activities or the last minute shopping.
Day 07: Depart
Transfer to the airport for onward journey.
